Art at Katuaq
There are a number of impressive artworks at Katuaq to draw the attention of visitors. The royal blue theatre curtains in Hans Lynge Hall were created by artist Aka Høegh. A magnificent work sponsored by Kulturfonden Danmark-Grønland.
Plus, artist Buuti Pedersen has etched a design depicting the Greenlandic legend of the sun and the moon directly into the buildings concrete above the reception area.
The kayak sculptures outside the main entrance are by Isle Hessner. You can sit in them.
7 works by Aage Gitz Johansen (1897-1977) were kindly donated by the Aage Gitz-Johansen Trust. They hang opposite the café triangle.
By the spiral staircase there is a sculpture entitled "Red Wolfe" by Larry Ahkvakana, Alaska, which is a gift from North Slope Regional Corporation.
