FREE ENTRANCE // NUUK CENTER
SATURDAY 13TH OF OCTOBER 4PM - NUUK CENTER
An extract of the dance performance, the whole show will be shown in Hans Lynge's Hall 14th of october.
’Evoke’ is a contemporary dance piece co-created by seven dance artists from Greenland, Denmark, Norway and Finland, with artistic direction by Maliina Jensen.
The piece was created in September 2018 throughout a 3-week artist residency in Nuuk.
’Evoke’ is the first dance performance produced by Katuaq – Greenland Cultural Centre, and it is produced specially for the Outervision Dance Festival 2018.
The piece explores concepts of evoking imagery, action/reaction as well as receiving and transforming external stimuli. Throughout the creative process and development of ’Evoke’ the dance artists have been working with the ideas of evoking information individually as well as collectively; questioning ’how do we evoke responses or feelings in one other?’ And ’how do you interact with the information that you give and receive?’
’Evoke’ will also be performed in Maniitsoq, Kangaamiut, Kulusuk and Tasiilaq in October 2018 as part of the Outervision Dance Festival Tour.
