Head of Café and Conferences at Katuaq

We are hiring a new Head of Café and Conferences at Katuaq

Katuaq – The Cultural Centre of Greenland is looking for a creative, business-minded, and collaborative Head of Café and Conferences with strong leadership skills and strategic overview.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall management responsibility for Cafétuaq, the kitchen, and the conference department.

  • Integrating culture, art, and food culture with meeting and conference experiences.

  • Joining the executive team with responsibility for operations, budgets, shift planning, and high service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience (e.g., from the hotel, restaurant, or event industry).

  • Fluent in English and Danish (knowledge of Greenlandic is a strong asset).

  • Strong business acumen, financial understanding, and a focus on sustainability.

  • Knowledge of Greenlandic culture and excellent communication skills.

About Katuaq

 

Katuaq is a commercial foundation that, based in the Cultural Centre of Greenland, works to promote Greenlandic culture both locally and internationally through cultural exchange and collaboration. Katuaq operates its own cinema and café, as well as meeting and conference facilities and a concert venue. Katuaq collaborates with numerous associations, businesses, organizations, and individuals within the cultural sector.

Katuaq is funded by the Government of Greenland and Sermersooq Municipality. In addition, Katuaq receives support from several sponsors who contribute to a wide range of cultural events across all of Greenland.

At Cafétuaq, we value the good atmosphere both among colleagues and guests. As an employee of Cafétuaq, you not only get to know your fellow café employees, but also the rest of the house. The café is the meeting point of the house, where unity is created among the rest of the colleagues.


Tasks:

  • Provide good service
  • Make smoothies, coffee, tea etc.
  • Serve food etc. for hungry guests
  • Clearing the tables etc. Make sure the cafe always looks neat.
  • Prepare conferences in Katuaq
  • Bartend at concerts


You must be 18 years of age and able to work 40 hours a week.
