On September 4th, Katuaq will frame a very special music evening, when two of the Arctic's most prominent musicians and singers, Beatrice Deer from Nunavik and Greenlandic Tarrak, each give their own concert in Katuaq’s foyer on the same evening.
The audience will experience a fusion of tradition and modernity. Beatrice Deer is internationally recognized for combining indie rock, pop, and Inuit throat singing (katajjaq), creating a fresh, contemporary musical sound.
That same evening, Tarrak will also give his own concert, cementing his position as one of the most prominent artists among the new generation of Greenlandic musicians. Following his performance at Roskilde Festival in late July, where he was praised for his ability to engage the crowd, expectations for his performance at Katuaq are high. As reported in GAFFA in July 2026, Tarrak demonstrated how effectively he can deliver his message.
Cultural Dialogue
The concert in Katuaq will be a celebration of Arctic strength and creativity. By presenting Beatrice Deer’s atmospheric vocal universe and Tarrak’s socially conscious, hip-hop-infused sound, a unique musical dialogue will be created, giving the audience an extraordinary experience.
