Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and Katuaq are proud to present Pikialaarfik, a full week dedicated to art and culture for children and young people in Nuuk.
Pikialaarfik is a creative and inspiring space where kids and youth can explore their talents, try new forms of expression, and discover the joy of creating together.
What to look forward to: Throughout the week 43, the city will be filled with exciting activities, workshops, and entertainment:
- Opening Ceremony (Ammaanersiorneq) at Katuaq.
- Creative Workshops & Courses: Experience bookmark making, face painting, and much more.
- Shows, Concerts & Exhibitions: Including a fashion show, live music performances, and art displays.
These activities are organized in close collaboration with strong local partners: Allunnguaq, Allattarl', Nunatta Atuagaateqarfia, the Music School, NAPA, local Youth Clubs, and Kittat.
All the artworks created by the children and young people during the week will be exhibited at Katuaq, giving everyone a chance to come and celebrate their achievements.
Background:
Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and Katuaq have entered into an agreement for the next three years to provide children and young people in Nuuk with a one-week arts and culture experience once a year.
The goal of organizing this week is to increase the appreciation and value of art and culture among children and young people, Katuaq Cultural Centre writes in a press release.
