Culture Night

Kusernerit is an acoustic band from Nuuk, Greenland consisting of Maali Hermansen (vocal), Jaaku Sørensen (guitar and vocal) and Marius Petrussen (guitar). 

Since their formation back in the fall of 2018, the trio has played in several highly praised live concerts, both in and outside of Greenland. Most recently in Ilulissat during Inuit Circumpolar Council’s (ICC) Delegates Meeting and the Arctic People’s Conference in 2023. 

Kusernerit play a mix of calm, emotional and up-tempo acoustic songs. At the center of their songwriting lies the stories they tell with their music; about who we are as human beings, about our place in the universe, and about their own people and culture. Just like the band itself, the songs they create are all bigger than their parts.
