Hidden path
Many Sea Sámi hid their identity out of shame, as a result of the harsh assimilation policies from around 1850 to 1989.
In the performance, the story is told through the eyes of the next generation, who discover this hidden part of their family’s past, and they ask: Am I Sámi enough?
The performance is a crossover production that uses dance, circus, joik, music, poetry, and projections as forms of storytelling.
