Total Hip Replacement is a groove collective known for its energetic and unique live concerts. The band navigates everything from intoxicating reggae rhythms, soulful melodies and dub to pop that intertwines eco and social criticism with a clear message about the bleak path our world is taking.
With a mixture of strong rhythms and organic, expressive virtuosity, a sound is formed that alternates between being forward-looking and hypnotizing. Heavy grooves, detailed wind arrangements and intense synthesizers meet in a musical landscape that is dark and longing, but full of hope.
Since the band's first EP release, Keep The Fire Alive, the group has carved out their own niche in the musical landscape cemented on a solid foundation of musicianship and a unique blend of global rhythmic music and young pop. The band's latest release, Anyankofo, was released in 2022 to general critical acclaim, the disc received, among other things, 5/6 stars in GAFFA with the words:

For the past two years, Total Hip Replacement has toured in Brazil, Ghana, Europe and Greenland, and this autumn the 7 m/k high orchestra is back in Greenland. Along the way, Total Hip Replacement has drawn plenty of inspiration from their journey with music around the world, so it will also be with pockets full of new material when Total Hip Replacement hits Katuaq.
