Gâba - Polka

Already as a child, Gâba began playing polka music for his classmates and performing as a musician at dance events for adults. He is passionate about renewing traditions, but of course, he also plays the old tunes, including kalattuut – the Greenlandic version of polka.

After moving to Nuuk, he began submitting recordings to Stina’s radio program “Avalaappakkit.” His recordings can be heard on Spotify and purchased on Apple Music and iTunes.

He says he has only celebrated his birthday 13 times – since he was born on February 29th.
