The wedding of Palo
Navarana, a young Inuit woman, keeps house for her three brothers. She is more skilled than any of the other women at the summer settlement when it comes to flensing seals and preparing skins, and her brothers, who are very proud of her, anxiously await the day when she must leave them to tend another man's oil lamp.
They are aware that she has set her heart on a man, but they do not yet know whether it is Palo or Samo, two of the young men from the settlement.
