Our Inuit relative from Nunavik, Beatrice Deer, and her band play the genre Indie Rock.
Originally from Quaqtaq and based in Montreal, Beatrice Deer uses her unique "Inuindie" music style,blending Inuit and Mohawk, influences to convey messages about women's empowerment, resilience, and connection to her homeland of Nunavik.
On her eighth CD album, Inuit Legend, ancient legends and modern realities are presented in a renewed and more accessible way.
KIMIK is Greenland’s art association.
The association was founded in 1995 and has its own workshop in Nuutoqaq (the Colonial Harbour).
The members hold art exhibitions every year. Every other year they exhibit at Katuaq, and every other year at the Nuuk Art Museum.
This year, the art exhibition will be held at Katuaq, and this year’s theme is “KIMIK 2026”.
