The shared history of the Nordic countries goes back more than a thousand years. There have been periods of both friendship and conflict, but what colonial legacy and responsibility do we Scandinavians carry with us?
THE COLONISTS is an interactive dance performance that takes a critical look at our shared heritage—one that many prefer to forget—and at the colonial structures that still exist today. Embedded in a satirical atmosphere, the audience observes and participates in an exploration of power and abuse of power. THE COLONISTS is a cascade of choreography, voice, and musical interplay in an interactive context, where five dancers occupy and conquer the stage.
