Riddu Riđđu Festival is an international Indigenous festival held annually in Kåfjord, in the Norwegian part of Sápmi.

Bringing together Indigenous peoples from around the world, the festival offers a diverse programme featuring music, performing arts, literature, workshops, seminars, art exhibitions, film screenings, a children's festival, and a youth camp. Most activities take place outdoors, while others are hosted in community venues and tents.

The connection between Greenland, Sápmi, and other Indigenous peoples is of great importance. We share common experiences in preserving our languages, cultures, identities, and rights. Through collaboration, we can learn from one another, exchange knowledge, and strengthen Indigenous voices both locally and internationally.

This is why Katuaq took part in this year's Riddu Riđđu Festival. Event Coordinator Tukummeq Korneliussen and Music Coordinator Birte Olsen participated in the festival's delegate programme, where they met with representatives from Indigenous organisations and cultural institutions from around the world. They also attended a wide range of festival events, including concerts, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and talks.

Katuaq's participation resulted in new international partnerships, valuable knowledge exchange, and fresh inspiration that will strengthen our ongoing work in cultural development and collaboration across Indigenous communities.

We extend our sincere thanks to Riddu Riđđu Festival for the inspiring collaboration, and a special thank you to Eqqumiitsuliornermut Aningaasaateqarfik for making our participation possible.
