Katuaq at Arctic Sounds 2026

In 2026, Katuaq participated in the Arctic Sounds festival in Sisimiut.

Arctic Sounds is a festival where musicians from Greenland and around the world come together to perform, while also creating an open space for knowledge sharing and cultural exchange.

In addition to the festival, Arctic Sounds organizes the Arctic Sounds Academy, which aims to empower women and young people within technical fields in the music industry.

Katuaq is very pleased with the collaboration with Arctic Sounds Academy, which, among other things, resulted in the concert Arnaq, held at Katuaq on March 8, 2026. The event successfully presented a program consisting entirely of female musicians and technicians.

With a focus on sustainability and outreach, we have also, over the past three years, organized concerts in Nuuk in connection with the festival, when artists were traveling to Sisimiut. This year, on April 1, artists Juurini from Nunavik and JJ Paulo were presented at Katuaq, delivering an atmospheric and engaging concert experience.
